Reflections:

Did You Know?

In addition to the retreats and programs offered by our Spiritual Growth staff, the Jesuit Center for Spiritual Growth welcomes Catholic and other ecumenical groups who are looking for a beautiful setting to conduct their own group meetings.

Take, Lord, and receive all my liberty,

my memory, my understanding

and my entire will,

All I have and call my own.

You have given all to me.

To you, Lord, I return it.

Everything is yours; do with it what you will.

Give me only your love and your grace,

That is enough for me.

—St. Ignatius of Loyola

Series and Weekday Programs

“This is what is meant by the famous Ignatian motto ‘finding God in all things.’  ‘All things’ to Ignatius is the whole panoply of human drama—our relationships, our work, our strivings and failures, our hopes and dreams.  God can be found in all of it.”   – David L. Fleming, SJ, What Is Ignatian Spirituality?

September – December, 2017    “Meeting Christ in Prayer” – Chris Derby, SJ & David Gross

April 2018 Thursdays “Finding God in All Poetry” – Chris Derby, SJ

I have made up a morning prayer to you containing with precision everything that most matters. – John Berryman, “Eleven Addresses to the Lord”

The beauty and artistry of poetry springs from gifts that God gives each poet; each poet nurtures these gifts in her or his unique way.  Poems can provide us with an exciting way to consider God and the way God moves in human beings.  Each week, we will consider the spiritual insights and themes present in poems by poets such as Billy Collins, Gerard Manley Hopkins, Jane Kenyon, Denise Levertov, and Mary Oliver.  No previous knowledge of poetry is needed; all materials will be provided.

The program will take place from 7 to 8:30 PM on four Thursday evenings in April (National Poetry Month).

Deposit: $25  |  Cost: $50 (includes coffee/tea & snack)  |  Register Now

After you register, you'll be instructed to make your deposit and/or pay your final cost. Click here to make payment.
