Fr. Robert M. Hussey, SJ, the Provincial of the Maryland Province of the Society of Jesus, has decided to close the Jesuit Center for Spiritual Growth, effective August 2021. Fr. Hussey announced his decision on 29 May 2020 in a letter to the Province. You may read Fr. Hussey’s letter, accompanying FAQs, and Br. Derby’s letter of response here.
While we are sorrowful at the decision, we are focused on the remaining time of ministry here in Wernersville. As much as possible in this pandemic, the Jesuit Center will be offering retreats, days of prayer, and other programs for spiritual renewal, and hosting groups, through August 2021. You can see our 2020-2021 program calendar here.
Letting Go, Letting Be, Letting Come: Autumn Day of Prayer
with Ms. Anita Wood
Wednesday, Oct 2, 2019
9:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Autumn on the grounds of Wernersville is a perfect time to contemplate life's transitions. Ending, waiting, and beginning again are all part of transition, and as Christians, we hope to move through transition with grace. Change is not only the path behind us, but the path before us. Everything we now love was produced by change at one time. But change can feel daunting and uncomfortable. Whether it is a new job, a new home, a new health challenge, a new decade, or a new family situation, transition is an ongoing human process of letting go of the way things were and being open to what is or what wants to begin. Jesus spoke of this dynamic as the path to resurrection. Come and consider how God has been leading you throughout your life and how God is still leading in this new moment on the journey.
Arrival: 9:00 – 9:30 AM. The program will begin at 9:30 AM and will include input from Anita, opportunities for quiet prayer and reflection, Mass, and lunch. The program will conclude at 3:00 PM.
Cost: $50 ($25 non-refundable deposit)
After you register, you'll be instructed to make your deposit and/or pay your final cost.
