Did You Know?
In addition to the retreats and programs offered by our Spiritual Growth staff, the Jesuit Center for Spiritual Growth welcomes Catholic and other ecumenical groups who are looking for a beautiful setting to conduct their own group meetings.
Take, Lord, and receive all my liberty,
my memory, my understanding
and my entire will,
All I have and call my own.
You have given all to me.
To you, Lord, I return it.
Everything is yours; do with it what you will.
Give me only your love and your grace,
That is enough for me.
—St. Ignatius of Loyola
Dear Friends of JCSG,
I write with a heavy heart to inform you that David A. Gross, a long-time member of the Jesuit Center for Spiritual Growth staff, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2019, after an eleven-month battle with cancer.
David loved the Jesuit Center and everyone who lived, worked, and made retreat here. He was an unbelievably kind and dedicated employee, spiritual director, musician, and above all, friend. His loss creates a void that will not be filled. Let us join our prayers together for him in the words of the Church’s immortal chant:
“May the Angels lead you into paradise; may the martyrs greet you at your arrival and lead you into the holy city, Jerusalem. May the choir of Angels greet you and like Lazarus, who once was a poor man, may you have eternal rest.”
David’s funeral will be private. We invite everyone who knew and loved David to celebrate his life with us at a memorial service & reception to be held on Sunday, January 19, 2020, at 2 PM in the Main Chapel here at the Jesuit Center.
David requested that gifts in his memory be made to the Jesuit Center for Spiritual Growth.
Br. Christopher Derby, SJ, Executive Director
